Naturally, you will still be able to operate your DVDs on Blu-ray players, and you will find that many of them look far better than you will remember owing to the up-scaling capabilities of many models.  This is something that quite surprised me the first times I experienced it.  Even older DVDs seemed to have been provided with a new life with these players.  Mind you, I can still understand many folks replacing favorite DVDs with a new Blu-ray copy as the superb high-definition quality actually does offer a much more increased experience for the viewer.
